Hey Juliet, this is awesome. I'm glad you like using the grid. I also like the attention to detail with the five-fold symmetry of the flower. The circular pattern looks great. I'm interested to know how you did this.

Thanks! the circle part is easy. I work in Illustrator (cs5) so I dragged the design segment into  the brushes palette and made a pattern brush. Then applied it to a circle and changed the stroke weight until I got something I liked. The grid makes lining things up in the repeat so much easier! Thank you :-)

This is good to know. I am still learning illustrator, and now Affinity. I think both applications have their uses. Thank you for sharing your process!
