I took both the basic doodle and curvy doodle classes today.  I think like the curvy and more organic doodles the best but it's fun to mix them.  I have never liked "zentangle like" doodles before because they seemed overwhelming and I got bored but I think if I do small bit sized chunks and follow your steps and advice, it will be more fun.

I had premarked and painted some pages in my sketchbook so that I could experiment with dealing with what was there when I got to the page and the next page in my book that happened to be for the curvy doodles was perfect with these wavy blue paint marks.
