For this class, students will learn and practice the different coloring techniques for skin, hair, eyes and clothes to give life to their realistic portrait inspired by a fictional character.

Using Procreate, students will be coloring the provided file, or a drawing of their own choosing. They will follow the different techniques presented to color more realistic skin, hair, eyes and clothes.

Steps:

Setting the base color.
Defining traits with shadows.
Adding highlights.
Creating Skin Texture
Coloring, shading and highlighting Eyes.
Coloring, shading and highlighting Hair
Coloring, shading and highlighting Clothes
Creating a background for your portrait.

Benefits of completing this project:

Students who complete this project will gain an understanding of coloring, shading and lighting. They will add details and life to their drawings just by playing with lights and shadows, which will give depth and realism to their creations.
