Workshop Timeline

Milestone 1: In Introduction to SEO: Tactics and Strategy for Entrepreneurs, Rand Fishkin covers the fundamentals of SEO, how to create your own strategy that’s likely to “move the needle,” and how to audit your website or web pages to make meaningful improvements. You’ll be replacing Rand’s standard class project with this one: Share three keywords or phrases you identified that you plan to incorporate into future content, and explain why these keywords or phrases are so important for your audience. Post your thoughts to the project gallery by May 13th.
Milestone 2: Now that you’ve learned the fundamentals, SEO Today: Strategies to Earn Trust, Rank High, and Stand Out addresses marketers’ most common questions. You’ll learn link earning strategies for higher rankings, on-page SEO techniques to serve users first, the latest and greatest insights on search engine results pages (SERPs), and best practices for both mobile and desktop. Again, you’ll be substituting a special workshop project for Rand’s standard assignment: Share your favorite technique you’ve learned, and how you imagine it improving your SEO and informing future content creation. Then, provide feedback on a classmate’s favorite! Post your final comments to the project gallery by May 28th.
