For many Skillshare teachers, publishing a new class every 1-2 months ensures they earn a consistent side income that provides them with both financial + creative freedom.

Some teachers are able to put their monthly earnings towards new art supplies or equipment to help supplement their creative projects, while others say the foundational monthly income has enabled them to pursue the freelance projects they’re most passionate about. How the Challenge Works

Sign up for the Spring Channel Challenge by clicking the “Join” button (you can find this button on the top right-hand corner of this page).
Every few days, we’ll send you’ll an email with tips and relevant resources to help you build your channel as well as tips to help you become an even better teacher.

The Prizes

✔ Best in Show Prize- Let your Creativity Flourish

This month, the Skillshare team will award one special teacher with our Best in Show prize! The winner will receive our Creative Inspiration Set curated by top teacher Amarilys Henderson. We believe great classes keep students engaged from start to finish. The three most engaging classes from the challenge, as measured by average student completion, will receive a featured slot on their category’s Browse page. See an example here.

✔ Community Comrade Award

Community feedback and support is a huge motivator for all teachers! We’ll award one awesome community member who provides helpful feedback to their fellow teachers with the Community Comrade award - a $100 Amazon gift card.

✔ Most Improved

We believe that a teacher’s creation process and teaching style evolves over time. The Skillshare team will award one special teacher the Most Improved prize - a $100 Mouth.com gift card! The criteria for this prize will be based on teacher presentation and overall clarity of teaching.
