How It Works
- Sign up for the challenge by clicking the “Join” button above, and enrolling in our free class on teaching - Teach an Amazing Skillshare Class.
- Every few days, we’ll send you’ll an email with instructions and tips on how to complete each one of the class creation milestones.
- Share each of your milestones in the Project Section for feedback.
- Use the Discussions section to ask questions along the way and get help from our Teacher Support team.
- Need extra help? Participate in a live AMA with our Teacher Support team on Wednesday, March 16th at 3pm EST. Sign up here.
- Publish your class to Skillshare by Friday, April 1st to successfully complete the challenge!
Key Dates + Milestones: March 1st- April 1st
Milestone 1: Start Your Class Draft - Due Thursday, March 3rd
- Assignment: If you haven't done so already, start your class draft at www.skillshare.com/teach by clicking "Start a Class." Your class draft is where you'll upload your class information and videos before publishing to Skillshare.
Milestone 2: Class Topic and Project - Due Sunday, March 6th
- Decide what you'll teach and what you'll ask students to create!
- Deliverable: Start your class project in Teach an Amazing Skillshare Class and share your class topic and class project.
Milestone 3: Outline - Due Thursday March 10th
- Assignment: Complete your own outline using this outline template.
- Deliverable: Share a link to your outline in your class project.
AMA with our Teacher Support team on Wednesday March 16th at 3pm EST.
- Join this live Q&A session! You’ll be able to ask us anything from specific Teach Challenge questions, to general question about teaching on Skillshare! Sign up here.
Milestone 4: Your Sample Video - Due Thursday, March 17th
- Check out our filming resources in our Teacher Handbook, and practice your teacher presentation skills.
- Deliverable: Post your introduction video or a sample video lesson on Youtube, and embed the link into your project or share the direct URL.
Milestone 5: Wrap up Filming & Start Editing Your Class- Monday March 24th
- Assignment: Wrap up filming and start editing! Check out these three quick tips on editing your class videos!
- Optional Deliverable: Post an edited sample video lesson on Youtube, and embed the link into your project or share the direct URL.
Milestone 6: Publish Your Class - Due Friday, April 1st
- Finish recording your class videos, and upload them to your class draft (click "Start a Class").
- Deliverable: Publish your class to Skillshare and share a link to your class in your project by April 1st at 11:59 PM EST!

FAQs
- What if I miss a deadline? No problem - you can catch up to the next milestone and still be eligible to complete the challenge if you publish your class by the deadline.
- Do I have to live in the USA to participate? You can teach a Skillshare class from anywhere in the world! While we can only give prizes out to residents of the United States who are over 18 years of age due to tax purposes, you can still take the pledge and publish your class to Skillshare.
