Challenge Description
This August, join hundreds of other students in building an interactive Skillshare class.
This Challenge will guide you through a step-by-step process of creating your Skillshare Class from start to finish; with milestones at every stage, insightful tips from our Teacher Handbook, and reminders throughout the process, this challenge is a perfect opportunity for anyone who has ever thought about teaching on Skillshare.
Remember, our most successful classes aren’t taught by “experts” – they’re taught by creators like me and you who are passionate about what they do! Our community believes teaching is a great way to share your knowledge, build your brand, and make your community a better place. Check out our Class Syllabus for more details.
Challenge Prize
The top teacher from the Challenge will be awarded with the Apple Watch Sport and will be featured in a Skillshare email newsletter reaching over 1M students. Every teacher that publishes a class will receive a free year of Premium Membership on Skillshare. As you know, Skillshare is about fostering community in support of one another's growth, so remember to provide constructive feedback to your fellow teachers!

- Remember, you can join anytime throughout the month and catch up at your own pace.
How It Works
- Every few weeks, you’ll receive an email outlining which challenge step to complete next.
- Throughout the 6 weeks, you’ll complete milestones that ladder up to a complete Skillshare class: designing your class, outlining the lessons, filming your lesson videos, and publishing your class.
- Collaborate with your fellow teachers throughout the month by sharing ideas and leaving your feedback on their projects.
- Drop your questions on the discussion section and we’ll work together to solve them.
- Don’t forget to join our Teacher Community on Facebook to stay up to date with teaching on Skillshare.

- Start creating your class in the Project Gallery of the Teach a Skillshare Class: Designing Your Class. Use the Project Gallery as a working space to brainstorm and share any ideas for teaching you have.
FAQs
- What If I already started my class? No problem, you can still join the challenge! Publish your class by the deadline, and you’ll receive a free year of Premium Membership.
- What if I miss a deadline? No problem - you can catch up to the next milestone and still be eligible to complete the challenge if you publish your class by the deadline.
- Do I have to live in the USA to participate? You can teach a Skillshare class from anywhere in the world! While we can only give prizes out to residents of the United States who are over 18 years of age due to tax purposes, you can still take the pledge and publish your class to Skillshare.
- What are the guidelines? Classes are reviewed against our Class Guidelines. The grand prize winner will be awarded with an Apple Watch based on adherence to the class guidelines and quality of content as determined by the Skillshare judges.
