The project for this class consists of creating simple and eye-catching icons for your Instagram highlights covers.

Following the guidelines in this class and the resources provided, you will choose a limited color palette and identify the main topics you want to highlight in your profile to create 5 or 6 simple icons/illustrations, using Procreate.

In each video, I will guide you step by step towards the completion of your project:

First, you will describe, in a few words, the profile these illustrations are aimed at. For instance, you could include your name and “title” (i.e. Silvia - Surface Designer). Or, if it’s a service, you could say, for example, nurseryman, or local restaurant, etc. Stating your “category” at the beginning gives a first idea of who you are and what you do but, of course, there is more than just that.
You will brainstorm and identify 5/6 main topics you want to include in your highlights.
Then, you will choose 2-5 colors for your color palette, based on your research. Colors help state the mood and look of a brand or personal brand and are stronger when are limited to a few.
You will sketch your ideas for the icons using Procreate.
Finally, you will create the 5/6 illustrated covers for your identified topics.

By completing this project, you will not only have 5 cohesive illustrations ready to be added to your social media highlights, but you will also have a blueprint to create other icons in the future and also sell them online as digital illustrations.

Complete your class project with these easy steps:

Upload an image of your mood board, including your profile title/category, your chosen color palette, and sketches of the main topics you have identified for your profile
Upload an image with the final 5/6 icons for your highlights covers
