Your class project is to create a series of four expressive self-portraits, each with a twist!

Are you ready? You will have to draw:

With the hand you are not usually comfortable with
Without lifting your hand from the page
Without looking down at the page
With our eyes closed

Getting started

Sounds a bit crazy? Don’t worry, you can find the guidelines for each self-portrait right here, and watch the corresponding lessons for detailed demonstrations, insights on how the exercises will help improve your drawing skills, and of course tips and tricks to nail your project!

What will you need?

A mirror, a selfie camera, or alternatively a few different pictures of your face
Whatever drawing tools feel most comfortable
No eraser, as each drawing will be perfect as it is (trust me!)

Sharing

Share as many of your portraits as you’d like, by uploading to the “Your Project” section. And don’t hesitate to comment on your fellow students’ artwork - you could see qualities in their portraits that they might have overlooked, and vice-versa. We are stronger together!
