Hey Cat, great class! I got so inspired watching you painting that I literally RAN to Michaels and got most of my supplies :)))

Getting started: the supplies

I had 6 basic paint colors in my arsenal from an art project I did in college in 2015 (!!!), all pains held up well except for the red, it got dry and chunky so my sunset gradients didn't turn out as well as greens and blues.

Trying out a few different brushes, mixing colors and truly enjoying to slap it on a piece of printer paper with the spatula :)

Here comes my first gradient background! And a second one! Aren't they pretty?

I got this 4 color Easter pastels and miscellaneous brush bundle on sale at Michaels. Was super nervous about my "pea sizes", but here I go:

Truly a masterpiece, hahaha! Been holding my breath while smudging:

Acrylic Paint smells kinda nice... (I realized it after 10 minutes of not taking a breath):

Squishi paint tubes, mixing spatulas, plates, masking tape, paper, couple glitters and canvases are from the local Dollar Tree store, by the way. I also got a set of plastic mixing trays that I didn't use, plates worked out better. And those glitters I mentioned are just nasty, they have no color pigment and ruin the brush, don't buy them :))

Oh my, what's next? Let's use lots and lots of that masking tape! Yay!

I'm a bit on a budget so local Dollar Tree stores in Seattle, WA area surprisingly had a lot to offer and honestly? I was very happy with everything except for the paper and glitters. Mixed media paper from Michaels would be SO much better because the one I got was super thin and almost tore from intensive back and forth smudging.

Meanwhile: Herringbone Gradient in pastel colors

Haven't held a brush in years (can you tell?)) as I became and advanced office worker and mouse clicker over the past decade, but ya!

I totally ripped the paper on this project pulling off the masking tape too fast, oops, please forgive me! Happy Easter! Wait, what?

Moving on to painting a motif! So excited:

The brown turned out too dark and dried even darker. Burned dough?

Setting Up (those dollar store paints worked just fine for this project:) They are not very pigmented but perfect for a beginner paint waster like me!

Using a random Amazon pouch underneath my canvas to prevent the mess:

(Before putting the paint on canvas right away, I practiced with regular parer in the middle and thicker paper with yellow tone on the right).
