Practicing being a bit looser and not requiring myself to make completely accurate drawings. I left this until the end of the day and felt quite rushed.

I started this one shortly after finishing my morning pages and having a good talk with myself about what wasn't working. Then, I actually brainstormed on paper. This started out with a different title but as I worked on it a more accurate concept immerged. I finished this one feeling very energized and excited about what I had accomplished.

The more I draw the more I relax. I think Dylan is onto something with this daily art practice. I realized today I like annotating, so I left room to do it.

I am completely happy with this page. Le sigh.

Day 5...

I needed, I mean, needed to make art today. After how great I felt the past couple of days how could I contemplate putting it off?

I had to work to get this one done but there was no way I was going to end my day and not have this page done. Every time I even thought about it my reaction was, well, surprising. I knew that it had to be done in order for me to feel...right. The closest thing I can compare it to is feeling like I had art that needed to get on the page. Not that I really knew what I was drawing other than a rough outline. I simple HAD to draw. I love that feeling. I can’t wait to go to bed so that I can get up and get my other things done to make more time to draw! What is this feeling??

I don’t really want to share this because it’s so deeply personal. Then I decided to share it because it’s part of my growth.

Day 8...

I am learning to get out of my way and trust that the thing I want to create is the thing I want to create. Instead of looking for a better idea, I went with the first one I cam up with. Result? I love it. And it took less than an hour from sitting down with my supplies and learning the prompt to posting. Lesson learned today, stop fighting with myself.

Day 9 10/6/20

This one is unbalanced and glorious for all the change it contains. My self care used to consist of sleeping and eating. Mostly eating. Eating to feel. Eating to not feel. I found myself surprised that this page didn’t contain food.

Another one done. I gave myself the challenge of unrealistic colors on this one. I’m noticing that I enjoy annotations. I’ve started drawing little sketches on other pieces of paper. That’s kinda cool.

Day 11

my favorite corner turns out to be my entire studio. I love to be organized and know where everything is. I noticed that I never added color to my file drawers and that will be remedied post haste!

I never want the prompts to end! This has become such a good habit for me. I hope to revisit these prompts one day but I’m definitely going to find a way to make this a part of my daily life once the workshop ends.
