Create a single painterly pattern.

If you're new to Illustrator, be sure to take Intro to Surface Pattern Design and Surface Pattern Design 2.0 first. This course will assume that you're either competent in Illustrator or that you've taken these two courses first. :)

ASSIGNMENT

The assignment for this course is to create a single repeating pattern from your paintings. Your final pattern should be complex, seamless and engaging. Take plenty of time to learn the fundamentals of Adobe Illustrator first, then carefully paint and construct your pattern. Choose a color palette that is unique and engaging and your final pattern will be stunning!

DELIVERABLE

When you're ready, begin uploading your process and final pattern to the student project gallery. A complete student project should include:

A short bio + intro to your project - we want to get to know you!
Inspirations for your pattern (or a moodboard)
A snapshot of your original paintings
2 color palettes or themes you'd like to use
Your final pattern

Watercolor paper - I recommend Fabriano
Watercolor paint- I recommend Dr. Ph. Martin's
Watercolor brushes- I recommend Grace Art Brushes
