Coming up with the best titles and tags for your Etsy Listing is a constant work in progress. That is a fact.

Evaluating our listings is not something we can do overnight and we need to work on it and analyse how it performs over a certain period of time.

To improve and analyse how your Etsy Listings are performing, try this exercise:

Select one Listing from your Etsy shop that you believe needs working.
Look at your Listing and its photos and take notes by writing down:

#1 Current title

#2 Current Category and Attributes

#3 Current 13 tags you are using

#4 Current description for that Listing.
Now, look at your Listing as a buyer, not as a seller and:

#1 Write down 10 terms (single words) that specifically describe your listing/item/product)

#2 With those 10 terms, create 4-6 multi-word phrases (with 3-4 words each) and select which one should come first in relevancy, second, third, etc...
Reconsider if you are selecting the right Category and Attributes and double-check if your description is as descriptive as possible and if it tells the story of your item/product.
Once you are ready to update your titles, tags, Category and Attributes (if applicable) and description, take note on your calendar the day you made those changes and check how many views your Listing had prior to the changes.
After 30 days of your changes (mark that 30th day on your calendar too!) revisit your Listing and check how many views it got and how many sales you've made (if it's an item that can be auto-renewed everytime it is purchased, for example!)

If your Listing sold out, than changing/improving the written content of your Listing worked! You sold that item!

If you still think it is performing poorly, try to rotate the multi-word phrases order - it's all down to experiment and giving time for the Listing to perform for a certain period in order for you - as a seller and Etsy shop owner - to be able to analyse what's working and what it's not.
