I am excited to share my newest class, Modernism and the Birth of Graphic Design.

This course explores how early modern art movements transformed visual communication and shaped the foundations of graphic design as we know it today. You will learn how ideas from Cubism, Futurism, Dada, De Stijl, Constructivism, and the Bauhaus moved from the gallery into typography, posters, grid systems, and the visual structures we still use every day.

If you have ever wondered why modern design looks the way it does, this class will give you the historical context and visual language behind it.

In the class project, you will design your own modernist inspired poster using geometry, grid based composition, and typographic clarity.

This class is part of my ongoing design history series and is perfect for designers, creatives, students, or anyone who wants to understand the roots of modern graphic design and apply those ideas intentionally.
