Paint your own bumblebee using one (or more) of the 3 mediums

Recommended Materials

Watercolor paints OR watercolor pencils OR gouache
Paintbrushes: 2 or 3 small round brushes with a good point (e.g. Pro Arte Prolene Plus (round, synthetic), Winsor & Newton Series 7 (sable), Anna Mason by Rosemary & Co, etc…)
Paper: hot / cold pressed watercolor paper, or thick card
Pencil and eraser for drawing outlines
A mixing palette / plate / tile (ideally ceramic)
Water glass / jar
Kitchen paper / paper towel

Optional

Tracing paper for transferring outline to working surface
Kneadable eraser for lightening pencil outlines
Waterproof pen, e.g. Pigma Micron / GEO College Pigment Liner / Uni Pin Fine Line / Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen…

Assignment

Have a go at painting your own bumblebee (or another insect if you’re inspired to do so!) using one or more of the three techniques. Feel free to challenge yourself by using a medium you’re not as familiar with.
