Hi Everyone!

I'm Leah Quinn...

As an avid full time artist, designer & maker of all things organic, I own and operate a little apothecary shop in my city called Heart & Soul Apothecary and I am hoping to launch an organic textile line from my shop later this year. The shop is sort of your modern day 'new age' shop, but you will find many items I handcraft there, from lotions, spice blends, teas to essential oil blends all using certified organic ingredients.

I have been super busy the past two years concentrating in creating a large portfolio of designs while doing my best to learn the ins and outs of the surface pattern design industry. This is the year I wish to push myself and get my work out 'there' in front of the industries, art directors and agents I'd like to have licenses with. So upward and onward.

I am also currently reorganizing my personal design website which is in dire need but hoping to have that finished by the end of April, so most of my new work is shown I share is shown daily on my IG feed which if you are curious, you may follow me at LeahQuinnDesign.

I had loads of fun learning how to recolor artwork using the methods that Bonnie shared with us during this class. I grabbed a pattern I designed earlier this week, that I had submitted for the latest Spoonflower Mandala challenge and used an IG post I had created for my shop as a reference place in creating three new additional color palettes.

And while each of the three palettes have eight colors, I noticed halfway through our assignment, my 'Mandala Pop' pattern actually only had 7 colors. While the first few images show the pattern with the new colorways, I have also included a few extra that have the original colors that I had used in creating this pattern, and shared reworking the existing colors using one of the methods in 'reordering' the colors as Bonnie showed us in the earlier portions of the class.

Looking forward in seeing everyone else's recoloring of their patterns.
