Attached is a PDF file with resources mentioned in the course. While most of the "unit assignments" are not materials based, some of the resources might help. Feel free to print off the pages that will help you bring your project to fruition.

The assignments in the video units include the following:

Coming up with concepts and ideas - plot out a few story concepts to share with others.
Character concepts with Clayton Barton - draw up a character sheet to share!
Character sheets with Mike Van Orden - draw up a character turn around of your design!
World Building - The Ws - Answer the 5Ws in how you're approaching your world building.
World building - Architecture and themes - Design a city using the template or your own.
Script types - write out a one page basic script.
Shot Types - draw out an example for each listed in the video unit.
Shot composition - Look at famous painting or scenes and see how they are composed.
Composition exercises - choose a movie or show to take screen shot samples from.
Types of panels - practice the different types of panels.
Panel flow - plot out a page of panels. experiment with flow, and what might block it.
Tangents - Practice seeing the various types listed.
Dynamic vs Static with Chris Graves - sketch out a scene. First static, and then change it to dynamic!
Storyline and Tempo - break down a familiar storyline on the sheet provided
Story beats - no assignment here.
Thumb nailing Basics - thumbnail out a sample story. Either one you know, or from the script provided.
Storyboarding thumbs with Jean-Claude De La Ronde - Block in the thumbs from the previous unit with tonal value as JC shows.
Color - Google 5 famous movie posters and see if you can understand their color approach.
Lettering - Fonts, Dialogues, and Word Bubbles - Search online for the fonts listed in the unit.
Lettering - Titles - Design your comic book title and submit it here!!
Lettering - effect - By hand or in a program, play with some different font effects.
Cover choices - thumbnail out a few cover designs using the approaches in the unit.

The end goal for this project is for you to make a comic book!! All of these exercises are designed to bring you through that process. You can do them piecemeal, or as a concerted project with one goal in mind. The choice is yours. But please feel free to submit and show them here on skillshare!
