I actually liked the precision the pen tool gave me over the curvature tool, although the curvature tool is a bit easier to use.

Illustrator Essentials - image 5 - student project Using the width tool was by far the hardest part of the class for me. The 'L' was definitely the easiest letter. I wish we would have gotten a little more instruction on how to do the curvy parts, especially on the 'v' and 'e'.
