Congratulations! You've made it to the end of the class!

Now it's time to put all these newfound skills to use!

For our class project, I'd like you to use the provided material studio file to create your own material from scratch based on a reference image, or you can make a custom version of this Wizard’s Study that’s unique to you!

If you're feeling really ambitious, you can create a brand new environment of your own design!

When creating your class project, don't forget to utilize the provided "Class Project_Material Studio_01" file! It will make your life a lot easier when focusing on making an awesome material!

For the first class project option, I’d like you to use this "Class Project_Material Studio_01" file to create your own material from scratch!

The most successful projects would include a reference image of the material you were attempting to recreate, as well as your 3d render showing your version of this material.

This reference image isn’t entirely necessary, especially if you’re making a unique procedural material, however it's still a good exercise in showing how close you’ve matched your original idea!

As an example of this first option, I’ve created this orange mosaic tile material utilizing images from AmbientCG.com. Using these textures, I’ve matched this reference image as closely as possible.

The second option has you modifying the Wizard's Study file from class in whatever way you'd like!

As an example you could:

Adjust currently applied materials, by changing their color or other properties like reflectivity
Remove an existing material and create a brand new one of your own design
- For example, you could change the floor from wooden planks to stone tiles utilizing a free texture from AmbientCG.com
Adjust the layout of the room by moving, adding or removing objects
- Maybe you want to remove the beanstalk, and instead have a large crystal skull floating over the broken planks!
- Or you could scale up the little wizard frog and have them working on a special potion at the alchemy table!
Add brand new objects to the room of your own creation to tell a different story

Below is an example of what this second option might look like!

The final way to complete the class project would be to design a room or object entirely unique to you!

This is by far the most ambitious and involved option, but it can be really rewarding to create something from scratch on your own!

If you’d like to use some of the models in the Wizard's Study scene, feel free to use the ‘Append’ feature we learned at the beginning of the class to bring these objects into your own scene!

As an example of what this could look like, I made this render of a fallen king returning to his now empty castle!

Regardless of the path you take for your class project, I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Don't forget about the amazing free textures that can be found at AmbientCG.com! You really can't beat the value of completely free and high quality textures!

I walk you through an entire example of how to start your class project in Lesson #17, so make sure you watch that video if you're not sure how to begin!

Just remember to have fun and don't stress out about the details! This project is a way to share your hard work and creativity with the other students and myself to show how far you've come since starting the class!

When you're finished with your final render, don't forget to post it to the project gallery so we can all congratulate you on a job well done at the finish line of this class!

If you're unsure how to post your project to the gallery, let me give you a quick explanation:

1. Render and save your image as a .JPG or .PNG file in Blender
2. Click the "Submit Project" button located in the "Projects & Resources" tab below the video player.

3. Now you need to upload your Cover Image (Please note: This is ONLY the image for the cover of your project, it will be cropped in the project gallery).
4. Give your project a name! For example: "My Awesome Material!"
5. In the "Project Description" text box, tell us a little about your render if you'd like to! Was there a story behind the way you assembled your objects? What is your favorite part of the image? Did you find anything in particular challenging about the project?
6. Now for the MOST IMPORTANT STEP, don't forget to upload an uncropped full size version of your render using the "Add More Content - Image" button found below the "Project Description" text box.

Without uploading your image a second time, the only thing we'll be able to see is the cropped cover image, which would be quite a shame after all your hard work!
7. Add any relevant "Skill Tags" if you'd like to (it's optional if you don't want to).
8. Hit the "Publish" button at the top of the screen!

And that's it! You're done! You've now joined the ranks of all of your fellow Blender explorers by submitting your class project!
