First thanks Jazza for all the tips and the great value that you are providing us with this content, I personally, learnt a lot!!!

In other hand, here is what I've got: was actually a kind of difficult to get something out of my mind and get it, at least, a bit close to what I actually wanted, even when is not completed due to the leak of motivation thanks to "enviromental factors" I let affect me.

What I initially wanted, was an snail with a city in its back, but then I changed my mind and decided just a kind of frog-snail-man.

This is my mood board:

Now into the colouring part using my cheap school color pencils, starting by defining the shadow area (personal liking, no magical tip or anything!):

And then, after a lot of hard work creating a perfect, colorful, layered ham and cheese sandwich, I sat down to get the final (yet incomplete) result:
