The Japanese style and motifs of this tutorial reminded me of the RPG Shadowrun, so I based the text and compositions around cyberspace.

First I got my sphere and used Illustrator to vectorize it...

Editing was quite fun as all I had to do was mess around! I constrained the angles as to give a more virtual city like effect.

The three compositions I came up with stuck close to the tutorial as this is a learning exercise. I imagined them as adverts for being a hacker within Japan in the Shadowrun universe. The text and retro 8-bit font also reflect this. The English font is a modernized blackletter, adding some fantasy in the mix.

I also added a slight 'fade effect' to some of the text and boxes as it fit the matrix vibes.

The text technique for the 'manga' poster was a good reminder. Love this effect! Constructed it via photoshop then illustrator per instruction...

In Illustrator, if you know you don't want any white from an image trace, go into the image trace window options box and select 'ignore white'. When you expand you'll only have the black components.

The poster I composed fit the manga theme well, considering the cyberpunk topic.
