Watercolor Trees & Gift Tag

Watercolor Trees & Gift Tag - student project

I started my project by doing a light wash in a gray-blue color. Once it was dry, I created a row of pine trees using my round brush and the midline -> branches method. I used a watered down shade to keep it light and create an illusion of depth. Once that row dried, I added two more rows using the same method.Watercolor Trees & Gift Tag - image 1 - student project

When everything had dried, I outlined where I wanted to trim my painting to create four gift tags. I cut them out, and snipped off the top corners at an angle to create a gift tag shape. I used a hole punch to place a hole in the top center for my ribbon to go through. I hand lettered my family's names with a brush pen. Finally, I wrapped my gift and tied the tag with ribbon! I love how it turned out!! :)
