I never felt like this one was done so, armed with my new paint and new color mixing knowledge, I took another stab at it. I liked the composition but not the colors. I thought the colors I chose were a bit too cold and muddy so I followed my paint strokes around and warmed them all up.  This painting is brighter, lighter, and a lot warmer. I am still struggling with reflections but I will keep practicing until I figure it out. Thanks Elle!

 

This is the second class I’ve taken by Elle Byers and I can’t wait to take another! It’s super hard for me to loosen up while I’m painting so it’s been really challenging but it has taught me a lot about value and how to use it to make paintings pop. Thank you, Elle!
