Sketching Essentials worksheets
Hi! Loved this class so much. Thanks Gabrielle for inspiration to commit to fundamentals again. I also needed a break from drawing digitally and this class was welcome. Also, its great to be reminded of how much I love pencil drawings. Uploading pics for this class is a work in progress. Just realized now there's some worksheets missing so I will be adding to it again. I apologize for the quality of the pics. Tried to edit some to make it more viewable.
Experimenting with materials:
I often just jump into drawings without experimenting. The tools and paper definitely make a difference in drawing quality. I definitely recommend finding what works for you!
Practicing shapes and subject breakdowns:
Practicing forms and trace over subject breakdowns :
Always a great workout to draw 3d forms. And its definitely challenging to think about how cross contours lie over subjects. Thanks Gabrielle for your great demonstration and explanations! The eye level is kinda something i never think about. Its a whole cool new thing to discover!
Not sure what i was trying to do with the cube drawings lol. Also never drew cones much before
Drawing angles:
I totally love drawing with angled lines so much! Sometimes i gotta fight to make things less angular lol
Negative Space:
Looking at negative space definitely made me pay more attention to what i was looking at.
Gesture and rythms:
Being a perfectionist, these drawings are really cringe to look at for me. But i really want to get better at gesture drawing! Its a whole new mindset and im committed to practicing it more. I love this part of fundamentals probably the most! One thing i noticed is the timer psychs me out and i strangely find myself switching to "symbolic" drawing. So i kinda end up looking less at the subject which isntwhat im supposed to be doing, if that makes sense, in an attempt to beat the timer
Thank you again for your effort in making this class Gabrielle.
Any comments or feedback on what im messing up will be appreciated, thanks!
