Drawing & Line Quality

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback. I find that contour drawing makes me better when I sketch in the field (as a beginner urban sketcher) because I can go faster. I am really enjoying your classes.

Hi Cynthia, Thanks for sharing the photo as well as your drawing. Contour drawing is a great way to improve your hand eye coordination and something that would be good to do for 5-10 minutes each time as part of your art program whenever you have a new subject. In the second exercise you could keep your lines even lighter to start with and practice changing the pressure on your pencil to move from drawing lightly and then drawing dark within one line. Its hard when the brush etc are black! I can see you've stayed light where the highlight on the brush is. Keep practicing this exercise too! Both will help you steadily improve in all other areas of drawing and painting. I look forward to seeing your future projects :)
