Hi Mike, Great work here - you've captured the expression well. For feedback all I would work on is balancing out the tonal values by comparing one area to another in the photo and thinking about how close or far apart they are in terms of value. For instance the white on the left side cheek in your drawing and the white under the right side eye could be taken down to a very light grey - this might mean you then have to darken up some of the shadows as well like the lower left side of the face to get the tonal balance right.Hair looks great, love your work on those fluffy bits at the top. Perhaps could be darker on the right side.I like your smooth style and the choice to leave the tshirt very simple is cool too.Thanks for sharing your work! Emily

Thanks Emily for the critique, only now that you’ve pointed that out can I see it and now looks obvious to me, my perception of values will only be heightened with this critique many thanks Mike

Its always easier to see corrections in someone else's work! Its a good thing to practice, even just by looking at other project submissions :)
