My Daughter
So happy I came across your class! I also took your focusing class as well. I bought a Sony A6400 Mirrorless DSLR a little less than a year ago and I've struggled so much with getting sharp, focused photos. But today, I have to say I'm pretty proud of the shots I got. My daughter and I went to our local park with the camera and tripod in tow for some pics! It's amazing what can happen when the camera doesn't shake! I have small hands so I have a hard time holding the DSLR on top of that still getting a grasp on the exposure triangle. We were in the bright sun so it's a little overexposed but I also got a bit of shadow interplay from the branches above the tree. My settings: 51mm focal length, F5, 1/320, ISO 100. I did touch up slightly in Lightroom to decrease the highlights a bit from all the sunlight and brighten the shadow a bit to the left of the pic and added custom white balance. You can see the before and after pics below.
