Gluten/Dairy/Soy Free Apple Pie

Gluten/Dairy/Soy Free Apple Pie - student project

I made a hybrid recipe for this pie following the recipe I've used for a few years and adopting the methodology shared in the video. I made my crust with gluten-free flour and dairy-free butter, then I used leaf cutouts (that I apparently had but didn't realize) for the top crust, painted on an egg wash, and baked according to the temperature listed in the recipe. The leaf cutouts were super helpful because I've noticed gluten/dairy-free crust tends to crack more easily, so I was able to use the leaf cutouts to hide the cracks. It doesn't matter if the bottom crust cracks, only the top. So with leaf cutouts, there are no cracks. Thank you so much for inspiring me with your class. I will definitely be making this one again--and may even try to make a dairy-free cheddar apple pie!
