Garden Flowers
Thanks so much for a wonderful class Pauline! Really enjoyed learning about this stencil technique. I was quite surprised how even small details could be cut out by following the cutting tips. The emphasised edges with gradient shading was my favourite for the printing.
Since I'm usually a digital pattern designer, not being able to move the motifs around after printing was a bit tricky for me!!! I think my spacing was a bit tighter at the start than at the other end of the fabric.
I made 3 stencils in all - flowers, stamen and stems. Part of my stems stencil was too 'deep' and it was a bit difficult to print with (as Pauline had warned). I'll think more about the stem structure next time.
These were the flowers from the garden that inspired me.
I had so much fun with this project :) Next time I'll try adding some colour.
