Create galaxies with a toothbrush

Create galaxies with a toothbrush - student project

Hi Erin,

thank you for a great class! I just run out of masking fluid and decided to just go with the simpler techniques. And after all, splattering ink and Finetec gold watercolors around with the toothbrush is just sooooo much fun! I used washi tape to create the white spaces for the lettering.

I made the mistake of using a brush first to make the splatters and the result didn't look like stars (see first 2 photos). After finding a toothbrush and holding it perpendicular (as you point out in your class!) the outcome was so much more star-like ...

Looking forward to your next classes!

Keiko
