Café da tarde

Café da tarde - student project

Olá everybody,

It was again a pleasure to watch and learn from one of Mariya's classes and I'm happy to share the result of my learning with you.

First of all I learned that we can get inspiration even from an awful photo. I took this photo and it is a good example of what not to do. Everything is wrong here and I know that because I took Mariya's excellent classes on photography. Now my photos are getting a little better but I still have a lot to learn.

The photo is awful, but this moment with my dear mom was lovely.

Here is my watercolor version of the photo.

Shadows are my artistic license as I'm not really good at it, but I know that little by little I will get better on it. If I don't get better I won't give up instead I will adopt my own personal stylised shadows and make them become fashion. :o)

Forgive me Mariya I understood that you are very picky with shadows :o)

*the coffee beans are real not painted.

I'm from Brazil and here we have a coffee time (café da tarde-afternoon coffee) just like the English have their tea time. In the middle of the afternoon we have a coffee with some bread, sweets, etc. It's a moment that we sit down and enjoy a bit of relaxing time with family and friends. It's by far my favorite meal of the day.

Here a close up

Not yet very convincing, but it is the begining and begining is the most difficult part, isn't it?

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and your experience with us Mariya. By the way, I loved following your November coffee project on Instagram!

Have a happy holidays everybody!
