Character name: Queen Lucina Evergreen

Backstory: A powerful fairy queen who lives in an enchanted healing grove. She protects the grove with magic and is very welcoming and kind to visitors needing a place to rest and recover.

I wanted to show her in a regal pose and chose a profile view like on old Roman coins. I also wanted to add a lot of jewels and ribbons to her hair, but tried to keep it simple for an anime style.

I used the following colors, to convey mystery and also the forest. (And they are some of my favorite color combinations.)

Sap Green

Terre Verde

Horizon Blue

Pthalo yellow green

Indigo

Bright Rose

Skin tone: Burnt Umber, Raw Seinna, Carmine

Winsor Violet (Dioxazine)

And some burnt umber in the hair shadows

 

Plus watercolor pencils; violet, blue, and brown.
