Always start with WHY
Before creating any chart, answer three things:
What decision is this chart supporting?
Who is the audience?
What action should follow?

Beginner vs Industry
Beginner chart: ‘Monthly sales trend.’
Industry chart:
‘Sales dropped after price change , should we revert pricing?
