Your Class Project is to format a document, It can be a poster, an advertisement, a editorial, a restaurant menu, really anything using text and images, applying the design principles taught in the class. The class will be broken into sections with simple practices along the way, so that you can apply what you’ve learned and share your progress.

Class Sections

Section 1: Learn the basics of an InDesign document understanding definitions like Trim and Bleed, as well as the common color modes RGB And CMYK and when to use them.

Section 2: Dive into design theory by understanding basic design principles such as alignment, hierarchy, and basic typography that will help guide your viewers attention.

Although a lot of this class will be focused on design principles that can be applied in the software of your choice, we will be using InDesign practice files to put what we learn into practice. If you don’t have InDesign you can always sign up for a free trial from Adobe ( Download a free trial or buy Adobe products | Adobe Free Trials and Downloads ) and utilize the free trial period for the purpose of working through the practice files.
