This course will teach you how to paint vibrant and fun oil portrait in a fast, easy and organised way. It is accessible for everyone, whether you have a large studio or just a tiny table. It is focused on basic oil techniques.

You will learn:

What supplies do you need (cheaper options also available)
A thing or two about colour
How to approach oil painting with help of values
How to mix colour for your portrait
How to paint in layers according to a reference
What to do after you finish painting (varnish, drying time etc)

I wanted to make sure that no one is scared of oil painting as it can be intimidating because there is a lot of misconceptions about drying time, toxicity, accessibility etc. I really would like to show that you can approach oil painting with fun and don’t have to be scared of passing out in your room.

Supplies:

GAMBLIN: Artist Grade Paints, Gamsol (Spirit to dissolve paints), Galkyd (Fast drying medium), Gamvar (Varnish)

Surface: Any oil painting canvas paper will do, I used acrylic and oil paper from Arteza

Brushes: Oil Brushes will do (Example of brands: Kolinsky, Pro Arte)
