For our Meditative Watercolors class, I invite you to a project to express your creative feelings. By the end of this session you’ll have an artwork that tells a story that is uniquely yours.

Project Goals:

• Create with me. Starting with layouts , mind mapping, sketching and moving through watercolor , you can apply what you learn in real-time, resulting in a piece that’s rich with learning and creativity.

• I encourage you to jump right in! A sketch, a splash of color—every contribution brings you closer to your masterpiece.

• Share your progress, challenges, and successes with the class community. This collaborative spirit will not only inspire your fellow artists but also offer you insights, encouragement, and the joy of being part of a creative collective.

• Let your project be a mirror to your imagination. It must reflect your imagination.

Materials / Supplies:

• Watercolor Paper: A high-quality watercolor paper (preferably cold-pressed and 140lb or heavier) will be your canvas.

• Watercolor Paints: A basic set of watercolor paints, with a range of colors to explore different hues and mixtures.

• Brushes: A variety of brushes (round, flat, and fine tip) for different strokes and details.

• Pencil and Eraser: For sketching your initial designs.

• Palette or Mixing Tray: For mixing your colors and exploring new shades.

• Clean Water and Cloth: To keep your brushes clean and to adjust the paint’s opacity on the go.

• Red Watercolor: Specifically for the dynamic outlining technique highlighted in this class.

Final Submission:

Your completed project should be a watercolor painting that incorporates the techniques and concepts covered in the class. I encourage creativity and personal expression, so feel free to interpret the lessons in a way that resonates with you.

• Post your final artwork in our class community in the students gallery. Include a brief description of your inspiration, the techniques you found most challenging or rewarding, and any insights you gained through the process.

This project is not just an assignment; it’s a journey of discovery, skill-building, and creative expression. Through sharing you’ll contribute your unique perspective with me and with our artistic community. Let’s create something remarkable together.
