Adobe Photoshop or GIMP: If you don’t have Photoshop DO NOT WORRY! When we are preparing our images I will demonstrate how to do so in both photoshop and then GIMP. GIMP is free to download and use so this course is accessible for everyone.

Course outline

Accessing Midjourney and course materials (A quick overview of how to download Discord and Access midjourney)

Generating our patterns in Midjourney – (This session will show you how to generate surface patterns designs with Midjourney. We will look at what prompts to use to generate surface patterns, whilst looking for keywords, and sources of inspiration)

Checking the pattern is tileable (A key part of this process is to make sure that our image has a seamless when we tile it to go across fabric or any other surface. This lesson will show you how to best check your designs)

Upscaling our images (It’s important to make sure our images are ready for print, within this lesson I will show you how to upscale images and increase the DPI so that you have an image ready for print)

Next Steps (Now that you are learning the skills to create amazing designs, its time that we look at the next steps. In this lesson I will guide you through the optional next steps on where you can take your designs)

Class Project (Assignment) – (This lesson will walk you through the class project that you have been tasked with, summarising the skills and techniques learnt in the course.)

As mentioned above in the course outline, the course will finish with a really fun assignment where you will have the opportunity to practice the skills that you have learnt in this course!
