For your class project, you will mindfully paint a leafy, relaxing piece of art with gestural marks using your favorite colors.

WHAT WE'LL DO:

Set aside around 15 minutes to sit down and really focus on your brushstrokes
First we’ll practice using our brush as an extension of ourselves to make gestural marks, suggestive of leaves.
Then we’ll use those marks to paint a bunch of leafy stalks in our favorite colors, working mindfully. If you want to see how I mix my favorite colors, check out the PDF resource below.

WHAT YOU NEED:

Watercolor Paper: While you can use any mixed media or watercolor paper, this will be most satisfying on good quality (300gsm+) paper.
Watercolor Paints: Use whatever you’ve got to hand. I use a Windsor & Newton starter set.
Round or mop brush: Pick a medium / large brush relative to the size of paper you want to use.
Water: To clean your brush and activate your paints.
Paper Towel / Rag: To dry your brush.
