ASSIGNMENT

Your assignment is to concept, design, and illustrate a 3-color poster inspired by your favorite musician or band. Pick an artist you love, and try to capture the feeling of their music in your illustrations. Use any materials you'd like, but remember: there's nothing better than paper, pencils and ink.

The warmth and soul of putting pen to paper is nearly impossible to replicate with a computer. The computer has a way of eliminating happy accidents, and those happy accidents are where a lot of the beauty lies.

Pentel Pocket Brush Pen
A Quick Note About Other Brush Pens – The more Japanese writing on the barrel, the better the pen. If you can’t read a word on it, you’re in great shape.
Micron Pens
Brushes – I like these faux squirrel brushes by Dynasty (especially the rigger), but get a few different styles of brushes and see what works best for you.
