The main reason I love this technique is how flexible and useful each step is for other image projects. Let's take a closer look at the magic of Levels in Photoshop.

I use Levels in Photoshop to instantly improve photos. This is helpful to anyone taking photos of their own work to sell online. Great photos can make the difference between a listing that sells and one that customers pass by.

Of course, the better your original photo is, the better your listing will look, but let's dive into an example.

This photo shows my setup for a photograph for a greeting card listing. I am using natural light and you can see where the window is in relation to the display. This is late morning light where I live in Oakland, CA.

Next, is the photo directly from my iPhone 13 Pro, which I admit has a pretty sweet camera to begin with. The plant is added for depth and I cheated the card to face the light.

When I jump into Photoshop, I Open the photo and click on Image/ Adjustments/ Levels. I touch the White Eyedropper to the white of the card and the change is instant!

And here is before and after photos side by side. You can see the original has a blue tint in comparison. This technique is also known as "white balance".

I would also adjust the Brightness/ Contrast before this is ready for my shop, but we can talk about that another day:)
