In this easy to follow step-by-step class, you will learn how to draw cats' eyes with colored pencils on black paper. Using colored pencils on black paper can be tricky. Drawing a colorful subject can have a disappointing result as the colors might end up being dull and not colorful at all.
For this third class in the series, we'll build on the skills we learned in the previous classes and we'll work on adding more detailed parts to our drawings. This time, we'll be using an even smaller size paper to help us stay focused. And later on, as you work on your own projects, you'll realize that you aren't likely to draw a portrait with an eye much bigger than this.

I picked several cat reference photos on Pixabay and cropped them to focus on the eye. I've attached the cropped versions as well as a black and white one for the final project. This one can be useful as we start with the first layer.

Once you’ve gathered the supplies you need, you will start by drawing several quick practice sketches of cats's eyes with varying amounts of details.
Once you're familiar with the process, it will be time to work on the final project, which will emphasize again the importance of slowly building layers.

You can either watch the full class and do the drawings afterward, or start drawing along as you are watching the videos. But to maximize your experience, I would recommend to watch the step-by-step videos once and pay attention to the instructions, then watch them again as you’re drawing.
