I'm excited to meet you where you're at with your photography in the way you share a class project here!

I've attached a Course Assignment Sheet PDF to the Resources section of this class for your reference so you can dive into any/all of the assignments that you feel you'd like to work on. Just update your class project as you go and add to it as you tackle these projects.

Here's an overview:

Gather Inspiration: Create a Pinboard on Pinterest to start collecting photos that emulate the kind of work you hope to be able to create. Here’s mine! Look for images with inspiring light, captivating compositions, subject matter you’re interested in, and the general style you’re drawn to.
Lighting Assignment: Setup a scene with a product or dish of your choice, focusing on crafting beautiful, intentional light, and capture 3-4 unique angles or perspectives.
Composition Assignment: Setup a session focused on implementing intentional composition techniques and capture 3-4 unique angles or layouts.
Finding Your Style: Create an inspiration grid using 9 images from your pinterest board and arrange them in a 3x3 grid using the Layout app (or photoshop if you prefer). Share your grid in the Project Section with 3 observations about what you’re drawn to in these photos and any common themes you see. Emulate the style from your inspiration grid in a new photoshoot or by re-editing existing work.
Editing Assignment: Re-edit a favorite image you've taken or show me a before-and-after that demonstrates growing confidence in your editing skills.
Business and Social Media Assignment: If you have an interest in photographing products or food for brands, I challenge you to source a product you love, style and shoot it, then share it on social media and tag the brand. This is a great way to get new eyes on your work, and start shaping your portfolio to reflect the kind of work you hope to continue creating.

I can't wait to see what you share here in class and answer any questions you have along the way <3
