ASSIGNMENT

Condense a section from your newspaper into a single, informative data visualization!

Pick a section that intrigues you, ask questions, and extract the data to build a set of information.

Extend your data set by adding new layers of information, then design a cohesive, single-page visual that suggests an answer to your motivating question. Use the lessons on stats, type, and color to enhance your work.

Your final design can be rendered digitally or by hand. This class presents a wide range of tools and resources. You need not use them all, or even any! Use them to inspire your own approach, and pick and choose as best fits your data and curiosity.

DELIVERABLE

Use your project workspace as a place to share your progress, thinking, and final visualization. I'd love to see:

A brief description of your newspaper section
Your initial question(s)
Notes on exploring and extending your data set
Final visualization (JPG or PNG)
