Texture... Being outdoors is really important to me. I love the patterns that bark makes on trees, like creases in the skin as we age.

Take 2... As already stated, I love old stone structures, but I also love the woven texture so I combined the 2. It is rushed as have had little time today. The link is that woven mesh is used to repair some walls. The thread represents the cracks in the wall whilst the mesh supports the stones.

Metamorphosis 2

Metamorphosis...So its taken a lot of courage to post this, but I figured to really explore our creativity we need to be vulnerable. My body has changed a lot after having to major surgeries within 6 months. The drawing also represents the affects that fibromyalgia and autoimmune disease has had on my body. I suffer chronic pain 24/7 and I have gone from working as a senior nurse to struggling to walk further than my garden.

Shake it up... I tried not to think too much what I was doing for this one.

Slow...Ok I did this because the process was slow. As I don't have a designated space, its a faff getting all of my watercolours set up. Once set up I put on some more meditative music (to block out the noise of screaming kids) and closed my eyes. I wanted that moment to last as long as possible and I just concentrated on my breathing. The watercolour background was obviously first then I had to wait 3 hours until my new black brush pens arrived from Amazon :). So it really was a slow process!

I feel that the purple and blue are tranquil colours and I love butterflies. They are very symbolic for me.

Cloud Shapes part 2...So here is the final piece. In hindsight I shouldn't have rubbed out the original pencil drawing. I'm just not confident enough to draw in black pen straight away as I suffer with hand tremors.

Cloud shapes...So I put on some meditative music and looked at the pencil marks I had made. I did it with my eyes shut so as not to inadvertently influence what I would draw. Gazing at the outline I strangely saw a baby Joey in the mother Kangaroos pouch.
