Liquitex basics – Light portrait pink, Quinacridone magenta, White, Black

2) Brushes: ¾ flat brush (background), 8 flat brush (roses and leaves), thin brush (details)

STEPS & GUIDANCE: Quick Summary

1) Prep your paper and materials – Remember to apply gesso BEFORE you tape down your paper. Gather your materials and set aside the colors you want to use.

2) Warmup exercises – Sketch out your rough composition. Play around with some colors and apply them to your sketch. This will help in visualizing your colors.

3) Outlining – Outline the shape of your flowers and fill in your composition roughly. Do not focus too much on details here. This is just for you to understand your placement.

4) Block off colors – Block off your darks and lights.

5) Painting process and details – Build in your layers little by little, going back and forth between your darks, midtones, and lights
