Hello, Friends!

My new class, A Shell: An Introduction to Watercolor, is available now. I created this quick course as an introduction to watercolor for those that have never tried before, or a refresher course to anyone that is thinking about coming back to watercolor after being away from it for a while! This class will teach you the fundamental techniques and strokes that are necessary for painting with watercolor, taking you all the way from a blank page, to a sketch, to initial washes, and then, by adding final details - a complete painting of a shell! We’ll also cover topics about sketching for painting, depth and dimension, and shadow in regards to the source of your light.

If the sketching has you a bit concerned, I recommend checking out my Two Point Perspective Study class, which really dives into some of the basic skills needed for drawing in perspective.

Or, for a looser approach to watercolor, check out my Watercolor Wildflower Journey class! In seven short classes, we will go through seven different flower paintings that challenge you to not only sketch quickly, but with ink, and also encourages you to add spontaneous aspects of watercolor!
