So this is my first time doing watercolor wash techniques and it started something like this.

Then after some patience and practice.

No No No, it doesn't come right. I am sure its the paper fault. Cheap watercolor papers won't do the trick.
BTW I have used 200gsm watercolor paper with 25% cellulose throughout because I don't have the heart to practice on super expensive 100% cotton papers and ruining it.

Okay so this was getting frustrated but wait what? I can see the two washes here with somewhat consistency (yellow and blue) :D

Okay so it is definitely possible to achieve the result I am looking for on this paper its just I am doing something wrong.

The project art work is super simple if I manage to get the washes right and I will have a cute bookmark to use, lets try again :D

Agh!! I am not paying attention to what I am exactly doing. Some comes out really well and some leaves me with horrible streaks...

Okay I don't wanna give up but at this time its very frustrating and I should stop. After few days again tried doing it..

Forget the project just concentrate on getting the flat wash right. Lets do it again.

Three bookmarks? Well I got carried away and I can't really express my joy when you get the wash right every time you do it :D

So to all my fellow learners, what worked for me;

-Concentrating on small areas and following the bead of water and every time I lift the brush from the paper I make sure I dip it into the mixture and touch again the bead of water. Forget the frustration and give yourself a break and come back to it again. Trust me once you get the hang of it you would be unstoppable.

Next is the graduated wash and lets see how that goes, will keep updating my progress here.
