For the final project, let's paint a beautiful watercolor scene based on a reference photo!

We'll start with the background layer (the sky), creating a beautiful background (utilizing color value and luminous textures) for the contrasting layers to come.

Then, we'll paint some mountains in the distance. Here, color value will help us create both distance and depth, and using wild and imperfect brush strokes will help us create a loose, evocative mountain range.

Finally, we'll use our brightest and darkest colors to paint the foreground -- a lush hillside speckled with dark evergreen trees. Remember: To paint what you see, you have to forget what you KNOW and focus on color, shape, and texture. This guidance will help us create a stunning scene filled with trees and mountains (using only the basic techniques any watercolor beginner can master).
