Class Project: Doodle a Simple Daisy Flower

For this class project, you'll create your own adorable daisy doodle using just a few simple shapes and lines. Daisies are one of the easiest flowers to draw, making them perfect for beginners and anyone looking for a relaxing creative activity.

We'll build the flower step by step, starting with a simple half-circle and gradually adding petals, a stem, and leaves. Once you've mastered the basic daisy, you can personalize it with extra details and creative variations.

Step 1: Draw the Center

Begin by drawing a half-circle. This shape will become the center of your daisy and serves as the foundation for the entire flower. Don't worry about making it perfectly symmetrical—a hand-drawn look adds charm to your doodle.

Step 2: Add the Petals

Next, draw a row of oval-shaped petals along the bottom edge of the half-circle. Let the petals overlap slightly if you'd like. You can make them long and narrow, short and rounded, or a combination of both. The petals are what give your daisy its cheerful and recognizable appearance.

Step 3: Draw the Stem

From the center of the flower, draw two parallel lines extending downward to create the stem. Your stem can be straight for a classic look or gently curved to give the flower a more natural and playful feel.

Step 4: Add Leaves

Now add one or two leaves along the stem. Create each leaf using two curved lines that meet at a point. Experiment with different leaf sizes and placements to make your flower unique.

Step 5: Add Final Details

Complete your daisy by adding small dots or tiny lines to the center of the flower for texture. These simple details bring the doodle to life and make it look more finished. You can also add decorative elements such as hearts, sparkles, butterflies, or little shine marks around your flower.

Step 6: Share Your Project

Once you've completed your daisy doodle, it's time to share your artwork with the class!

Take a clear photo of your finished drawing and upload it to the Project Gallery for this class. Whether you've created a single daisy, a bouquet of flowers, or experimented with your own unique variations, we'd love to see your creative work.

When sharing your project, feel free to tell us:

Which daisy variation was your favorite to draw.
What colors or decorative details you added.
Any creative touches that made your doodle unique.
What you enjoyed most about the drawing process.
