Update a sports team logo

Assignment

For this Project you will choose a sports team to do an updated logo design concept for. Using the information and step taken in the class you will work through the process in creating an updated logo design that maintains key meaningful and visually significant characteristics from the old while becoming updated in style.

Your final deliverable is a vector logo design complete with the mascot character and a text lockup.

Through this assignment you will learn:

Do meaningful research considering the history, culture and fanbase of the team
Study the exhisting logo to pull key characteristics to maintain but design in a new updated style
to spend plenty of time on paper sketching, brainstorming & refining before going to computer
Practice some vector lettering and illustration techniques in Adobe Illustrator

Deliverable

Upload your finished logo design. Make sure to share details of your process as this is the most important aspect of this design. Show us how you did your best to make sure the fans are happy!

As a bonus consider also creating the secondary logo mark and mock up your new update design on some jerseys, apparel or hats.
